Looks like I need a new motor mount for the drivers side of my 74 maverick. Is the drivers side the same as the passenger side? I looked at several on ebay and they all say thier for the right side.

If you are talking about for a V8, I don't believe that they are side-specific.

In general, if you need "a" motor mount.... replace them in pairs, please. You would be asking for trouble just replacing one, especially on a 40 year old car. They have a rubber core. If one is done from heat, age, and exposure to oils, etc., the other is usually trying to fail too.

Fresh motor mounts might have a little extra height, and an old new combo might actually give you a little hwy speed driveshaft shake, due to an odd tilt to the motor/tranny.

Might want to look at the trans. mount too.

They are fairly easy to replace. If you need some help there, PM me.

It ought to be easy to get a new pair of motor mounts from almost any major parts chain out there. This is something that is readily stocked .. may take an extra day or two to get it from a main warehouse, because of the age of the car, but they should have them.
