Type F in the "street" trannys that I build. Most don't want to spend the money on Red Line, Royal Purple, Amsoil etc.... However, those are all good/expensive oils. I ran mobil 1 0w-20 motor oil in my race c4 until it got up over $7.00 a quart. Now I just run castrol type-f in everything I run/build.

There is a "downside" to synthetic oils. They don't seem to get that "burnt smell" when they need to be changed. In other words, it seems harder to tell when it needs to be changed or if its gotten hot.
I'm a little harder on mine so I use Autozone brand Dexron III/Mercon changed every 20 hours or once per season.
looks like the Mobil Delvac sythetic automatic transmission fluid is used in Allison transmissions and can be bought in one gallon containers
I Have A 76 Ford Maverick 4Door Inline 6 Engine & I Was Wondering What Transmission Fluid To Use On My Car.
