Just thought I'd share something with you guys in reference to the 3D model I'm working on.

About a month ago, my girlfriend was talking to me and I was working on the model. I didn't really hear her cuz I was paying more attention to the model...
So she got upset and asked, "Why are you working on that stupid Maverick model?"
To which I turned around, stared at her and replied, "Listen, I don't have a Maverick to work on or drive anymore because I can't afford one. So I'm building my own from scratch!" She didn't like it when I said I couldn't afford one, because she knows WHY I can't afford one...

    A small fight ensued afterward...

I couldn't believe she called it stupid... So about a week ago I broke up with her, so no more nagging!! :rofl2:And now I'm saving my extra money up to buy a real one!

Kudos! Women/girls come and go...but the passion for cars is for life.:yahoo:

On a serious note, my ex wife left me with over $479k in debt and years of my life lost. You will find someone who loves you for you and now what she can get out of you... trust me its better to cut that one free.:D

I have been following your progress through this ... excellent work!

I just started messing with Google Sketch-Up (a really simplified version of what is being done here, for those that haven't seen it) for a small furniture project that needs to be made here. It's fun ... but I need to start from scratch again, now that I am starting to get how it works a bit. As I added bits to the project, it has morphed into an impossible mess ... kind of like an M.C. Escher drawing.

You definitely have some skills here. :thumbs2:

Ok... So I want to personally send out a big THANK YOU to John Holden and DDB for the awesome pics of the engine bay!! Without them, I couldn't have had it looking this good. I also want to send another THANK YOU out to everyone who furnished some pics for me!! I really appreciate the support, and knowing you guys are behind me is making me work harder (and better!) on this than any other I've done.

I just finished getting everything situated in the engine bay... and I've stared at those pictures for so long, I see shock towers when I close my eyes!! :rofl2:

Mind you, it's not 100% accurate...yet. I need to fix some stuff on the passenger side still.

So here's the preliminary result of the engine bay:

EDIT: I uploaded a newer picture after working on the passenger side and putting in the area where the battery would go.

The plan is to incorporate it into a web-based program for Maverick/Comet enthusiasts such as ourselves so we can experiment with different colors, stripes, spoilers, hoods, wheels/tires, interior parts, etc. Basically, play with the different settings and stuff until you find a combination you like. You will be able to print it out and see what your car will look like when it is finished......before it's finished :)
