I have a 1973 Maverick with a stock 302 and I'm trying to install an Accel 2020 points eliminator kit in it but I have a little problem. The instructions say to locate the spark plug wire on the distributor cap that the engine timing is set from but I cant find out that info,so any help on that would be great. It says I have to mark the location of that wire and also have to make sure the timing mark lines up with the top dead center mark on the timing tab,is that even necessary or can I just drop the unit in?I also have to rebuild my power cylinder(power steering cylinder)and was wondering if I can do that by hand or if I need a press? One more thing,I rebuilt my stock carb and it worked fine,I took it off to put another one on and decided to go back to the original and when I did it flooded so bad gas poured out of the top so I figured the float got messed up so I opened it and checked it out and everything was fine so I put it back on and the same thing happened, checked inside again, fine. So I was wondering if there was anything else that could be making this happen.Any info would be greatly appreciated. This is my only car and I really need it to stay on the road not only to keep the glory of the Maverick alive, but to keep my ass off of the bus haha. Thanks in advance. All my best,Tank.
Thanks Don,I figured it was the #1.Thats on the left hand side of the engine in the front if you are facing it right?
