i've already put the disc brakes onto my 73 but its time to hook them up..what master cylinder are you guys using? I dont want the big power booster under my hood. also what about the proportioning valve. These parts are coming off a 76 Mav and going on a 73.. thanks!

yeah from what I do understand is that a larger MC is required if not using the power booster...

check rockauto for part numer R85365. comes with pushrod - the length is always an issue when changing the mc.

Hey Matt! I am going to put rear disc brakes on my 8 inch also. What set up did you use? how did that go? ( other than m.c.)

Matt; I am using a '91 Ranger master cylinder. They are smaller and easier to work around. If you use this one, make sure the outlets are facing outside, toward the fender. If you get the outlets on the other side, you will have a lot of plumbing to do. works ok, just looks funny and gets tight against the valve cover. For a prop valve, I used a Wilwood combo valve--distribution lock, prop valve and brake light switch. Works great. Good luck!

A 74 Mav non power master cyl. is what I used on my son's 69.5. Works great. Had to adjust the length of the push rod to correct the pedal height.

Go to Summit and get an adjustable rod. Easy to set the height anywhere you want.
