I bought a steering column for a floor shift model that I am going to have rekeyed to fit my humpty dumpty Maverick restoration. Once I have a working key I have no clue how to remove the chrome bezel and switch. The bezel is one of the items I am having rechromed (unless someone out there has a nice one). Advise please.

Remove the steering wheel. In the casting where the lock cylinder rides you will see a hole. Insert a paperclip in the hole and turn the key to the ACC position and the cyliner will come out. The chrom part is part of the cylinder. You can buy the whole thing new from an auto parts store.

My thanks to both of you! I would have never figured this one out on my own!

don't try rechrome it would be cheaper to buy new from the parts store or look around on ebay or in the catalogs here so everything is keyed the same. doors and ignition, that is still cheaper then rechrome.
