add-on air conditioning on a 74

    I don't think it would be all that difficult. Just need to find the parts.

    Back to factory heat only... easy, back to ac or conversion to factory ac could be challenging, but do-able depending on your wrench skills. Those conversions had an evaporator unit under the dash which as you all are aware is missing. Some of the street rod kits are nice and a couple of guys here use them. I like the VintageAir stuff myself.:)

    It should be fairly easy to go back to stock. You can get a new under the dash unit for around $300 if you wanted to keep the A/C.

    Going back to factory non A/C .... How can I determine what brackets and stuff I would need? I don't have any idea what all has been changed.

    on the engine, you might just need the alternator brackets. The 70 I had was equipped the same way and the compressor bracket located the alternator lower than non ac but it was a driver, not a looker, so I just removed the compressor and left the rest there. Removing any residual stuff under the dash isn't overly complicated either, as long as they didn't modify the housing to make that work.
