Looks like you have a lot of welding work ahead of you. Been there and done that LOL! Just so you know, reproduction Mustang floor panels can be made to work and they are cheap.

Good luck with your build - I'll be watching your progress :tiphat:

the part of the floor under the seats I know are in good shape. . . I haven't had the chance to look and the panels and the front of the floor pan. I HOPE they are good. . but sheet metal work is EASY around my parents place.

You've got some torque box issues there to deal with.

I would bet you also have a 99% chance that your cowl and vent hats are rotted away which caused the water to pour into the car from under the dash in the first place which rotted your floors and then your torque boxes.

Pour a gallon of water in through your cowl grills and watch to see where it goes.

3Thanks for the tips guys. I'll try that first thing when I get out there to work on it. The donor car wouldn't be a good start for a new build for several reasons. 1. We got no title, 2. WAAAAYYYY more rust on the body than mine has. 3. VINYL TOP :hide:

You can click on "my images" under my avatar and see a few photos of my own cowl repair. If that if what caused all of this floor rust, it would be worthless to repair all of the damage and not solve the original problem. :)

I love doing sheetmetal work. It's SOOO easy. It's the body work in the end that gets on my nerves. It gets monotonous and boring. Welding is one of my favorites. I'll have to get butt deep in that maverick to find the cause of the rust in the cab.

Ok. SO I poured water down the cowl and on the driver side there is only a small area where the water drains run that allow water in. It's not much and it would take ALOT of water to overflow through the whole. But will be an easy fix. On the passenger side there was NO water that got in. If memory serves me right though I believe the windshield rubber leaked up top so that could cause the rust. It will be replaced soon as I get the money for new seal and can get the windshield out of my donor car. I'll put pictures up later of the driver side whole and I'll get in closer for more detailed pics of the rust spots. The boxes in behind the rusted out floor pan dont seem to be rusted out too bad....I'm assuming these are the "torque boxes" you mentioned?

Its just a little minor speed bump along the way. Expecting several of them throughout my build. the BIGGEST one is money. . . with the upcoming vacation to New York coming in November and the wedding in March money is a little tight. trying to what I can with what I got.
