I have heard if i wanted more kick i should use the torque converter for the 250 i6 c4 and put it into the 8v c4.
Does anyone know the specs of the two converters?
What kind of result would i see from doing this?

I heard the 6 cyl converter is about 200-300 stall looser than the V8 converter. I have a stock spec V8 converter behind my 250 and I really got to stand on the brake pedal at a red light or stop sign or I'll roll.

I went from a 250-6 to a 302-8 and used a 2400 stall b&m converter with a tci flex plate. I am using a late 80's roller motor with a B303 ford racing cam though. I believe the stall of the torque converter depends a lot on the way the motor is built and the intended use. :tiphat:

I may be wrong, but I thought it was the same converter for the 250 or V8

I used a 250cid covertor on my 302 years ago and it worked great! When I swapped to a 2400 stall a few years later...I never noticed any differance at all...so l say go for it

I bought a converter from Dacco, and they said the 250 and V8 were the same stall. That's what I went by.

Believe it or not the 250 and 302 share the exact same torque converters from the factory.
    1.375, 1.125" pilot, 11 3/4" diameter, 10 1/2" B.C., 5.650 Overall height(internal), and 26 spline.

Ford pickups with a 302 had the same converter as well, however; the Mustangs came with a 9 1/4" B.C., and 5.595 Overall height (internal)

The mustang you refer to is the v8 mustang II they stall about 2800 rpm and use a unique bellhousing and flexplate
