If I had to do it over I would replace the whole side. That way it would be flat where the front seat mounts! Guess it can still be done!

<p>Picked-up a '68 302 and a spare C4, will tear-down the 302, boil-out the block, check the bore diameter and out-of-round and have it rebored as much as needed. Once the block has been prepped I'll rebuild the bottom end and install whatever oversize pistons needed and have the crank checked and turned (if needed) and get whatever undersize rod and main bearings needed, then the heads including Comp Cams needle bearing rocker arms and valve stem seals and springs, retainers and keepers. Once all of the sub-assemblies are ready I'll install the Comp Cams "EXTREME ENERGY" full cam kit, an Edelbrock (I think it's a 1020?) and a Holley 650 double pumper with a manual choke and gear drive secondadies on it and install the engine in my '71 Comet 2dr along with a set of Hedman Headers and a freshley rebuilt C4 Auto Trans. The work's never done, there's always something else left to do. I expect between 425 and 450 hp when it's all done, we'll see. (staying with the C4 so the wife can play with it every now and again [she can't drive a clutch]) kafrompa

installed trans filter, new gasket and found a prize inside (I'll post a pic tomorrow). Filled the trans with new type F fluid.
Drove it downtown to The Cruise Down Central (local cruise/car show)

    Fun day

coat of tech wax then took mom out for dinner in the maverick. She gets a real kick out of the attention it gets. Especially the strangers that walk up and start talking to me about the car.
