I was wondering if someone could help me.
I have a 9'' Positrack and Im looking for clutches for it.
The problem that Im having is that I dont know what kidna of "posi" it is. Instead of having 4 tabs for the clutches, it has 5. Also it has 4 spider gears in the center instead of 2. I've went to local parts stores here and they don't have a clue what this positrack is out of, or what it's called. I know the track lock posi cluthes wont fit in it because Ive looked at them and the tabs won't like up, and there is 1 more clutch in my posi than the track locks. Any help would be appreciated.. Thanx

    Andy

5 tab steel spacers is standard. You can get the parts from a Mustang supply house for the posi disc rebuild. 8 and 9" discs are the same.
You just have a 4 pinion version of the 9" rear out of a truck or larger car like a Lincoln.
Just for laughs, there is even a 9-3/4 " rear that was used in the biggest Lincolns.:D

Thanks for the help. I'll check it out and write back.
I hope this fixes it, as I'm getting frustrated with not finding the parts for it. Thanks again

    9inch Info

Andy, go to the Ford Truck Enthusiasts site and look in tech articles. Scroll down to archived 4-22-2000. Lots of info on Equa-Lok and Trac-Lok. You have the Trac-Lok with 5 tab steels. 1970 up. The Equa- Lok has 4 tabs 1963 to 1969, this article will explain all this and the difference between the two. Might be of help to your local parts guy.

    Dave,

I hate to dredge up a post this old, but I'm looking for info on the Equa-lok unit and I'm not familiar with that site, do you have a link?

    Thanks!

    Russ
