Hello guys it been a while, I have a front end question. I did the 351W swap in my Mav, followed the recommendations for cutting the shock towers and my control arms twisted because too metal was removed, are there any Tech notes on how to make the repair? Should I be making the shaft in the control arm parallel to the frame rails before welding things back end place.

you consider just getting rid of the shock towers and switch over to mustang 2 set up? might be worth looking into depending on the damage.

That is definitely something that I am thinking about. I priced it at around $1800.00 complete.

You can move the upper mount but you will need longer lower a arms or shorten the upper the amount you move them this is how it was done in the old days

You won't be able to completely remove your towers without tying your front frame rails back into some sort of a cage. Frame rails are only stamped sheet metal pieces, spot welded together, and connected to the floor pans with the help of a torque box system.

I removed mine without a cage.

I see you removed your...inner fenders/ rad. support..., is that the reason for having to do a cage?

After removing your shock/spring towers, you left the rest of your inner fender walls and radiator support all still tied together and secured into your firewall like Ford meant it to be - My caging had to replace all of that stock "box" because I had nothing left except 2 frame rails:)

When I mentioned "towers" in my other post, I was thinking about the whole mess that I took out and not the actual towers sections that you were able to remove when you installed your R & C kit
