Getting ready to replace my Holley 4160. I am considering going w/ another Holley, but considering a Quick Fuel " Slayer Series" unit. If u are using one of their units, what do u think of it? Which series do u have? All comments welcome.
I would also like to know about the carb everyone is using and how its working out for them. Im considering switching form edelbrock to holley on my new 347 and I havent a clue what carb to go with. great post mojo
I am almost sure I am going w/the same type carb. Lookin at the 80458SA, 600cfm new alum unit for my 302 driver. I want to just bolt it on and ride. Don't want to change any fuel, vaccum or any other lines.
We have been using the Quick Fuel carbs at work for some time now..... I have probably put no less then 10 on in the last year and have not had a problem with one yet.....
Everett... I have an HR series QF 650 cfm mechanicle secondaries carb with an elec choke on my Sprint...My only complaint is that the elec choke warms and comes off too quickly. (May put an inline resistor in the feed wire to slow it down a bit) Thats really minor though, considering its a warm climate driver. You heard how lumpy this 351 is...This carb with some minor mixture tuneing and an accelerator pump stroke adjustment on the primaries was all it took. The car now has down right neck snapping throttle response, compared to the edelbrock 650 it replaced. I would look at the HR series carb, you dont really need the slayer for a stock engine. I might...LOL... Upon further review Everett...The slayer should be a good choice for your car...Dont know what I thinking of
I have used both the 670 street avenger and the 650 ss series quick fuel. By far the quick fuel carb is better but it is costly. The throttle response is like fuel injection and the tuning is the reason why.
