    Dang ... I guess I sold all mine too cheap! :)

    What's amazing is that over the last year I bet about 100 NOS Deluxe Maverick gas caps have gone through eBay ... they are not rare at all. Usually 1 or 2 every week.

    :eek:!! That floors me. I remember when I had a couple to sell that I wouldn't have expected that much for them if I stood on my head and whistled Dixie. How things change.

    $136? Hah! My wife paid a little over $500 for an original NOS, box never opened gas cap for my 71 429 Mach 1. That was the last piece of the restoration, and I had been looking for one for quite a while. She gave it to me on Christmas, and it was my favorite present that year!
    Re-pops are available today for about $150...but they ain't original!

    I was only refering to a Maverick gas cap - I'm sure people have spent small fortunes on some collector cars caps before.....

    Thats a lot for a gas cap.... I think I might sell mine and just put ducktape over the hole if I'm going to get that much for it with 2 hours left to go its almost @ 150
