I just installed new calipers and pads and have a problem. I was not able to get the support spring installed. The key fit in really tight. I also have both outer pads rattling. I have not drove the car but the brakes feel fine. I can not seem to find a picture to se where the anti rattle clip goes. I read it goes on the back but that doesnt seem like it would help me much.

    Thanks
    Matt

Anyway I try the spring it will not fit in. I have used my old one and the new one. Anyone ever run into this problem?

you need to put the spring in at the same time as the retaining block. i will put the spring on the block then wedge it in-between the caliper and bracket then tap it in.
as for the outer pad being loose, i usually will bend the tabs in so they are tighter on the caliper. it takes care of the click that they will have.

I have tried that method bryant and could only get the key to fit. I am pretty sure the caliper is in the right position. It is so tight that the key barely fits in but it does. Is this spring 100% needed. I did bend the tabs and put the rattle clip on the rear and cleared that annoyance up.

    Thanks
