A friend of mine sent this to me.Thought everyone might want to see this. Its pictures of old ford dealerships. Some have mavericks in them. One has about 6 mavericks in front. That brought back a lot of memories when my Dad used to take me with him every September to the dealers to look at the new cars.
I saw an old dealership in Fl the other day, I think the name of it was Bay Ford. It looked a lot like some of those. They had one of every model that Ford makes sitting out front. One Mustang, one Fusion, one pickup, etc. Wish I had of had a camera, it was like a walk back in time.... Edit: I looked it up, and the name of the dealer is Bay Ford, in Blountstown Fl. Anybody that lives or goes through there will know what I'm talking about.
Would that Jordan motors be in San Antonio? My Maverick was originally sold at Jordan Ford. Be really cool if I had a pic of the old dealership.
Wow,Neat! I worked at two Ford dealers in the early 70s,some of them bring back a lot of memories! I watched all of them twice...
I've probably been in over 150 dealerships with my Dad since I was 5 years old. He would take me out of school for a "field trip" and we would visit all the dealerships in a given area on Thursdays and Fridays and buy obsolete parts inventory. I can remember being in some dealerships that were a time-warp (straight out of the fifties). Some of them even had untitled cars from the 60's in their showroom and this was in the late 70's and early 80's! My Dad and I still reminisce about the "treasure troves" we found in some of those old dealerships. I have a good visual memory of alot of them and have often wished we had kept a photo diary of each and every one. I thank you for sharing such wonderful archival photos. Ed Bennett (JR)
All great pics. I'm adding them to my huge collection. I have close to 10,000 vintage pics on my Facebook page mostly related to old cars. I already had tons of dealership and factory assembly line pics. These will make a great addition. I'm surprised this thread is a couple years old and I've never seen it before.
