Any of you that have been following along with my build thread know that I have made a custom rear spoiler based on the stock Grabber set. Several members here have raised their hand to say that if I get a mold made they would be interested in buying a copy of it.

I am starting to look into what it will take to have a mold made and have it reproduced. Every person I talk with about this wants to have an idea of how many we are talking about.

So I ask you all, how many might be interested in buying a three piece set of this spoiler? Along with that, if you do say you would want one, what is the most you be willing to pay? I know that is an odd way of asking about selling a part, but it will help me to decide which direction to go if I have an idea that the majority will only pay $xxx vs $XXX.

This is something I am doing for my car one way or another. I am hoping to find someone to do this for me this winter or early spring. So if you have anything to ad to this please feel free to do so. Also, does anyone know of someone that does this type of work? Making molds and then reproducing the parts? I am going to shop this around to try and get everyone the best deal I can. If we can find an "in" somewhere it would help everyone involved.

This is raised 2" over the stock height Grabber spoiler. As a reminder, here are a couple pictures of what I have done so far......

I have admired the spoiler from the first time I saw it and would love to have one. As far as price goes around $300.00 would fit my budget. Would this include mounting hardware as well ?

A couple of questions for I commit.
Why did you put the relief in the middle.........
Are this a direct bolt on to the old ones............
Will they include hardware or do we use our own...........

First off, I am not looking for anyone to commit at this time. I am just trying to see what interest there is.

    In order of your questions,

The relief was a style design I wanted to give the spoiler a different feel than all the others out there. I am not looking to do a stock Grabber only taller, I am looking to be unique. If no one here likes it and doesn't want a copy, that's fine with me. This is my vision. I am really doing this for me. I am merely opening this up for discussion because others had expressed interest. It also matches the relief I have done on my front chin spoiler.

These will be a direct bolt on replacement of the factory Grabber spoiler set.

It will only include the three main parts, which includes the two quarter extensions and the trunk mounted center section.

    ***************************
Let me also say, I am not going to make a single dollar off of selling these parts. What ever they cost to reproduce is what I am going to charge. Other than shipping to the buyer of course. I am not in this to make money, or become a dealer etc. I made a part that some have said they like and might be interested in. I am having one made for me. If I can help some of you out great, if not, I am still going to get my part.

I like the design. And yes, I am interested.

I understand and am sure everyone else is appreciative of your efforts.
Since I have never had my spoiler off.............how do they attach, is it similar to the 67/69 Camaro's? If they attach with studs will the bosses be there to drill and tap?

I would buy one in a new york minute. Cost is the big question and depending on how many are to be produced will dictate cost per unit. Is a custom one off spoiler for a Maverick/Comet worth 300.00 in fiberglass??? (I would pay that if it was high quality) I think its a fair number all things considered but attaching hardware is going to be the cherry on the sundae. If it comes with a hardware kit it will be an easy sell...People like bolt ons' that come with the bolts. Good luck Glenn!!! I hope it pans out...I would love to have one.

The quarter extensions just unbolt easily. The trunk mounted part has threaded studs that go into the trunk lid, then nuts hold it down. Yes, the bosses will be there, completely bolt on replacement is my plan.

I do agree with you. I know there is a guy here on the forum that sells/makes the mounting hardware for the trunk mounted part. I could price that out and add it to the cost of the spoiler. So, yes, it would be a complete bolt on replacement.

Ok, I'm in also as long as the quality is good and even without the hardware it would be worth $300 to me as long as I can drill and tape the bosses.

Very nice spoiler! Unfortunately I already have one sitting on a table waiting to be installed. My question is what is your car sitting on? Can you roll it around? That would be helpful in my restoration.

is it possible to get some greater distance shots of that thing?

Especially the side view/profile to get a better feel for the proportions.

If you can do that?.. thanks in advance as I may also be interested in a set for my Comet.

The car is on a dolly that I made of steel tubing. It has castors on it so I can move it around with ease. I have the car bolted down using factory suspension mounts in the rear, and the sway bar mounts in the front.

I would be happy to take and post more pictures. Give me until this weekend and I will have them up.

I would be interested also. A quality piece should be worth $300 as others have stated.

I love the look, and I'd probably pay around $300. If it was of very high quality, gel coated and ready for primer/paint I'd pay more but that's asking a lot of a fiberglass part.
