I haven't had my exhaust run out the back of my car yet but I plan on doing so when it comes back together, but as my set-up was my Holley pump was mounted above the frame on the trunk where it drops down for the spare tire, worked great but now the exhuast will be running right beside it, should I move it? But where to.. Or will it even get hot enough way back there to effect it.
Where's your pump located if you use an aftermarket external?

it can definitely get too hot from the tail pipes being really close to the pump.

you really want the inlet of the pump below the lowest level of the fuel in the tank. the electric pumps dont suck very well. they rely on the gravity/siphon effect that is created by having it lower than the fuel. if they are above the fuel it will drastically lower is flow capability.
i would put it in-front of the the tank hanging on a bracket from the tank strap support with the bottom of the pump just a little lower than the bottom of the tank.

I have mine mounted on the frame rail, forward of the rearend. Zero problems with fuel feed, even with the stock fuel line setup.

i'll be in the shop tomorrow, and have a look to see where i can mount the pump where it's not in the way of exhaust or being damaged...i REALLY do not want to run this car with axle dumps.
