Well, I've been thinking about the interior in my 1977 2-door big bumper mav. Originally it was the BRIGHT red all around, from the headliner, to the carpet. The car is being painted Viper Red and I can't decide if I should convert (dye or buy used black panels) to black, or keep the whole thing red on red with a little more red. If I went the black route I would do everything in black except some dash accents, a strip of fabric in the new seats, and maybe part of the door panel. So tell me what you think.

The old 1969 Mustang Mach 1 I had was Candyapple Red with a black interoir. The seats had a red accent strip in them that set them off real nice. On the other hand, a red interior in a Maverick isn't something you would see all that often. Hard call to make there. If it were my Maverick, I think I would keep it all red. Worst case senerio, do what I did when when I had to decide what color to paint my Mustang....flip a coin.:)

I know what you mean with the red. I had a '92 Mustange hatchback with the red on red. Everything was red except the trim around the center consol. It was the only one I had seen that red. The ones I saw with the reed interior always had a black dash and steering wheel. It was a lot red. Especially when you opened the door at night and the light came on.
I am a pureist in a way and would keep the red to be unique. But don't go by me. My maverick was once originally school bus yellow and I just could not do it. So it is up to you......

well, my only issue is, the Viper Red is MUCH brighter than the orig. 2B red or whatever it was. Maybe I should look into dying the panels again so they look a little fresher and brighter?

Black accents on that red interior would look awesome to me...maybe even black striping and hood accent on the red exterior also...that would be super sharp...just my pennies worth...

I'm not much of a red person, and I really dont like black interiors, but between the choices, I'd go with a white or light tan interior. Did I say I dont like red much? NOw a black or silver car with a red interior is pretty sharp.

The mustang crowd calls this red "porno red" and ford's been putting this damn color on their cars now for an eternity, and just don't learn. No offense to the folks who like this color, but imo, and MANY others, the ford red is the most hated color of them all, it just stands out way too much and looks bad. I'd go all black in a heartbeat and would never look back. my .02

I like red interiors. I think they are converted to black
too often. If I had red interior to start with, I would
    leave it that way.
