believe it or not..... To the best of my memory I did not have a single 4 door pic submitted that I could use......I am trying to remember and I do not think I had a 4 door sent in at all  .....getting old. Also, only had 1 Comet..........it was almost a Maverick Calendar.
I was not even going to put mine in it......but at the last minute I realized that I did not have enough pics.....the one I used of mine is the worse pic in the calendar,,,,,,, As much excitement as there seems to be over this calendar, I only got "14" pics submitted for 2005 and there is always a few that I cannot use due to quality or whatever........ So in all honesty the hardest thing about doing this calendar is getting enough quality pics from maverick/comet owners......it has not been trying to get it done.....its been trying to get some pics to get it done. But, all-in-all it looks good and hopefully we can start taking orders next week. Thanks again, John.
Thanks Andy. I just put the last pass on both forms this morning. I will let it sit over the weekend then cut it, coilate it, punch the holes and run the wiro in it next week. Should be able to post mailing info by next Thursday........ It would make for great stocking stuffers.
Maybe I could get mine painted by next years... Id love for it to maybe make it I knew it was to late for this years however
Cool ... How big are these things? Standard wall calendar size? I see pics of cars but no calendar pages? Dan
Looking good.... I want to order a few also. I'm the only Comet, huh? Where are all the Comets? Come on Comet people. Lets get it together for next years 2006 calendar. Thanks for all your hard work John!
Mine will be submitted for next years....... paint or no paint... Its all red w/ a black hood right now...... want a new hood tho this one is crap... Someone cut out all the bracing, drilled it for hood pins, and put 2 cabinet handles on it to carry it with, and then dropped it....... i can deal w/ the hoodpins as i prefer those anyways, but the rest sucks...
Glad you ask..... Here is how the process works........ After I get the pictures, I send them to our prep department who will convert them to working files. They will seperate all the colors. Black, cyan, magenta and yellow. Then the images will be burned on a plate. Each plates has a single color. 1 plate= black, 1 plate=cyan...etc. etc. After that we hand the plates on a sheetfed press( to major types of printing presses...sheetfed and web) The press the calendar ran on was a 40" 8 color heidelberg. Stock was 25x38/80# gloss cover C2S. The reason you do not see any months is cause they are on the other side of the sheet(thats why I used the phrase 1st pass & 2nd pass) the press the calendar ran on will print both sides of the sheet at once(perfect) but I chose to do it in 2 passes to try and get the best quality possible. Once it is all printed then after it dries I start the next part of the process(bindery) which I mentioned. Size is 8 1/2x11 (closed) they are 11x17 when hanging on your wall Here is 4 pics of each plate on press....notice the 4 different colors.
here is some months on the other side. Stefan, I will delete these in a couple days.....do not want to take up space with this stuff. Thanks.
Someday I will submit my maverick. As of right now like many others mine would be in the junkyard calendar.
