The seam between the rear quarter panel and the rocker...most of you guys just weld it up together?

Depends if you want it to look stock, or not. I like the seam.

I left the seam. I ground the area on the rocker and the quarter panel. Applied a nice coat of 3M 8115 panel bond to both parts, then installed the quarter. Clamped it in place using Cleco pins. What squeezed out I just wiped away. Now that it is cured it will create a perfect weather proof barrier.

I welded it up, but I'm Also welding up the marker lights.. One side that's in primer looks awesome, way better without that seam.. But that's only my opinion and it's my car :)

Was it welded poorly or you just don't like the look of it?

It's 9" from a '78 bronco hence the massive drums(shoulda went disk would have cost the same but I didn't look into it till I was done) has 3.25" tubes and new style big bearing ends, has been narrowed and made to fit my comet, it's like 1/4" narrower on either side then a stock Mav rear end.. & if you care or want to know, moser axles, strange full spool and Richmond gears.

I don't think it was welded.....just mudded! I just like the look of the lines on our cars! Besides it makes you work harder to make it look original which the majority of ours is not!

Even though welding it was way less work, it looks so much better. Doesnt detract from the body lines
