hi everybody, im new to the forum and first timer maverick owner. i recently got my hands on a 1976 ford maverick. i was looking for an older car to fix up and went though tons of older cars, novas and baracudas. all were too much money or too bad of shape for my budget. then i found the maverick. it had no safety done on it so the guy was resonable with the price i paid $1000 for it and my wife was not inprested about the hole thing because she didnt think the maverick was a good vehicle to put money into. its has the 250ic 4.1l engine and at first i was going to swicth it to the v8 for more power but have recently found that the 250ic is not so bad and my engine is running now so if not broken. i want to fix the engine up and maybe get some performance parts any good start up kits to get this old engine to par. ive ripped it all done to bones, floor boards were ok maybe little repair but nothing major, trunk was also good so i think ive found a good one, now only to get the wife on board any suggestions on that lol. so happy to be apart of the team will have pics soon of the restore going on thanks everyone and i am very excited to be here.
dont think u will get her on board... i can hear it now (why u spending all that time and money on that car lol yep thats the bad part if u do wanna sell it.... but u will enjoy fixing it and seeing the finish product
