My Mav has been sitting for close to a year in the NY weather. I've tried jump starting it but it just turns and turns and turns but no success on getting it to completely fire. It's a 200ci engine in it. May have to walk up the street to get a new distributor cap since I did see some rot in the current one.

any other suggestions that could help me out here?

Try putting in fresh gas, and the new cap. May need some staring fluid to help get the fuel up to the carb. If it still has points you may need to clean th contacts.

you getting fuel? My 200 sat for a few years in the garage. It takes some time for fuel to build up. Try starting fluid in the carb to see if it will fire off....if it does you have spark and need to check fuel supply.
