Hello From AZ, I’ve been lurking on the boards for several weeks and learned a lot, there is a lot of good info here and you seem like a good group of people. A little about me : My Names Tim ,I’ve just bought a 76 Maverick for my son Jesse as project for him and I to build together He’s 10 right now so were hoping by the time He’s old enough to drive he can have a nice car for High School. A little about our Maverick: it’s a 76, 2dr, with a 302 and a C4 trans, Runs strong, The Body is straight as long as you don’t look too close and see all the bondo and sandmarks under the paint… oh and the weird bolt holes along each fender and along the roof just in front of the rear window like it had huge fender flares and a roof spoiler at one time. The Interior is trashed well trashed is strong… the seats and door panels are ok.. the rest is trashed, No carpet, no headliner, no lower dashpanels, wires hanging down… everything works its drivable, but looks bad. I was going to put some pics up in the gallery , but it seems I don’t have permission there must be a waiting period for newbs? Anyway I didn’t mean for this to turn into a novella, Just wanted to say Hi. And let you know you probably be hearing a lot of dumb questions from Jesse and I as we turn this Mav into his Dream Car. Tim.
That is awesome Tim...welcome to the board!! Where in AZ are you? Add that to the location in your profile so others will know. I am in Goodyear. BTW, we love pics on this board so when you are able please post em up.
from Atlantic Canada! Post up some pics! We'd love to see them! Those odd bolt holes sound interesting
Thanks for the welcome We're in Tucson.. Im kindof a picture nut So I'll get some up as soon as I can.
I believe that the holes I see in your front fender just above the fender lip are from the chrome side trim that is missing
I think you're right, i started looking and the holes continue along the doors and the quarter panels. Who the heck thought it was a good idea to use 1/4 inch bolts to hold on side molding (I know they didn’t but the holes are big enough to have)... crud, these are going to be a pain to patch correctly... the guy before me just bondo'd over em... that’s why they are back now. Thanks for the heads up.
