Rear torque boxes

    Thanks for all the replies & pics guys! I have seen videos showing the replacement of rear torque boxes on Mustangs and Mopars and was just thinking about what ours looked like. One other reason is because i'm about to cut a small section of floor metal out and i wanted to know what is under it!:thumbs2:

    When you bring the motor up to 5000rpm..........waiting for the lights on the christmas tree to start......................and hit the transbrake just before the last yellow..................the shock is pretty hard..........and at this point you are trying to rip the front spring eye mounts out of the frame...........................................at least on "Big Wheel" cars.:burnout:

    I thought..torque was...rotational force...not "shock it pretty hard"...force...:D

    so there's lots of "rotational force" on the front "torque boxes" then? I can see where there would be lot's of twisting force on both mounting points.

    "torque box" is a commonly used term for 'box-like' structures used to tie the frame rails into the floor in unibody cars for additional strength, front and rear....just 'cause you don't call 'em that doesn't mean it's wrong...
