I just took a quick look at their catalog and it seems to me that they have many parts that are shared or generic with other fords but very few unique to the maverick, am I being too cynical to think that this catalog is just an easier way to find generic parts more than real maverick parts?
Not that it's wrong, after all it is good news that autoparts dealers start taking the mavericks and comets on account. :scratchchin:

You didn't notice the same when looking through AutoKrafter's catalog? At least it's not like eBay where you see "1959 Chrysler tail lights (Fits: Ford Maverick)". :D

I think the friendly customer service is where Melvin's will shine. I have friends living all through Ohio and other mid western states that buy from Melvin's because shipping is cheaper than having the parts shipped from one state over.

Plus..I've been told what we can see on their website currently isn't a forth of the actual catalog ...remember this is.a new line for them and is currently a work in progress ...

What do you expect from a shared platform car? A lot of those parts if it wasn't a shared platform car you wouldn't be able to find. Hence our issue with body panels, and a lot of other pieces that are tooled specifically for the Maverick.

Exactly! The shared platform parts we can get from say a mustang or a falcon catalog BUT how about the hoods and tail lights and clusters, that's what I want to find when I look into a parts catalog that's supposed to be focused on 70-77 mavericks, otherwise it's just a slimmed down mustang or falcon catalog.

Next time I order weather stripping, I'm going to give Melvin's a try, for sure.

Conversely, is it a complete catalog for the car if it excludes the shared platform parts? I don't want to have to look at a mustang or falcon catalog and wonder if it fits my car. I want to look in a Comet/Mav catalog and know if it fits my car.

All of those parts, along with many others, will never be reproduced. If they were, they would be highly expensive, and probably would not sell at all due to the price. They would be expensive because of the cost it takes to have something made, and the the small run of parts that would be produced. These will never be a mass appeal type of car to restore/restomod.
