I guess. I drove a boxtruck with one for a while and it was nice. Smooth and powerful.
Since protouring cars should be outrageously over powered yet smooth and reliable, I was figuring it would be the right choice.

I think the reason we don't see the Triton V10 in a lot of performance car applications is the thing is incredibly heavy.

You should find a wrecked cobra and use the 4.6 32v engine out of it. Hell, find a cheap wrecked 99 cobra steal the engine and go with a set of remote turbos. or you could always buy a used stock eaton off of an 03/04, add a lighning pulley and put down 400+ hp with over 20mpg. A buddy of mine had a NA 32v in a 96 GT and went high 11's with 26-28 mpg. he is swapping to a 32v aluminum 5.4 and putting a hellion twin turbo setup on it now.

Unfortunately not much. I had the LenTech AOD I already had rebuilt and ready to use. I still need a roller cam 5.0L engine. While it may seem the tube chassis would easily allow any engine combo, it really won't due to the amount the engine is set back in the chassis and necessary clearance required for the monster front tires. I had it built specifically to fit a small block. I'd just like to start with a very mild roller cam 5.0L engine and later switch to a crate motor with some more serious horsepower.

I absolutely love the initial renderings of this build. Never saw this thread before and amazingly it has a few of the same ideas that I wanted to incorporate into my road race themed Comet GT. Especially the engine setback as I want to go at least that much myself to get a bit closer to a 50/50 distribution.

Hopefully as you progress further.. you'll get the weight taken at all 4 wheels to see how the balance of the car is.

Good luck with it all. (y)
