What would an all original 69.5 Maverick be worth? Mint condition. Car show trophy winning.170 six, Wimeldon white, key on dash, no rust. as good as it gets. I may have somthing in the works to get what I have described. I want to know value before I take the plunge. My heart tells me do it! My wife and bank account tell me other wise.
with the blinker arm being so rusty I would be worried about rust in alot of other places. also you can see signs of black spray paint under the hood. if you look under the shock into the inner fender well looks pretty rusty or very dirty at the least. look under it and get pics of the trunk floor and in the roof line drip rail I would think for the blinker arm to be so rusty there has to be moisture inside the car (if the windows were rolled up all the time) I would say a leaky cowl and prolly rotten floors I couldnt say for a price I would think around $2500? but I would go around the car with a magnet looking for bondo good luck with it if you buy it. whats the asking price?
The hood is off of a later Maverick (with F-O-R-D letters), and the car has definitely been painted. You can see overspray on the hood hinges and the rubber bumpers by the fender bolts. How many miles are on it? I would be prepared to spend some money, once you get digging around. Ask me how I know...HERE Good Luck, :Handshakeand if you can get it for a decent price you're comfortable with, go for it. I would check the cowl, though...
this is not what the pictures are of... I would look the front end over close being there is a different hood on it and a new paint job.
Oh no, it has a rusty blinker arm, the deal is off!!! It's a 43 year old car....it the body and floors aregood, and the interior in decent, 3 grand, I'd like to see the underside of the hood and see if its a 69.5 hood.
I would NOT call that car all original. Doors have been painted on the inside, dash cap installed, lots of black spray bomb paint in the engine compartment, hood is not original (with the FORD letters), stone guard has been painted body color. Still....could be a $5000 car. Need to lay eyeballs on it.
back in 2006 i think i paid $5300 for my mint 69.5 with 41,000 miles on it but i usually buy with my heart and not my head. But with Zero body work required can save lots of time and $ in the end. What is the claimed miles?
"all original"...could mean it still has the 44 year old brake system... what would be your plans for the car if purchased?
It has 88,000 mi claimed. I looked under the car and the floor pans looked and felt solid. The under side of the car is very clean. I could find no rust along the drip rails or rocker panels. I could'nt tell about the cowl. I found a little bondo in the quarters typically rust. The rear bumper needs rechroming. I say as good as it gets jokingly but it is a really nice car. It needs a valve job W/ hardened seats so I am factoring that in. I have seen this car before at a car show and was impressed w/ it then.
