Got the car out for the first time since I got home. Warmed it up and took is easy. Everything looked good. Got on it hard and suddenly the worst slapping knocking I have ever heard. Towed it home. Rockers, lifters and pushrods all function. Compression on all cylinders. Oil has bearing material in it. Motor comes out this week. It's a dart block so it is worth fixing no matter what. Not my day but things happen. Might not make Iowa thought, with the car anyways.
Wow that sucks... Feel bad for you Hopefully it's not too major.. We know it ain't good.. But hopefully not major.
I toasted my old 347 twice. Spun front two rod bearings both times and ate the rod and piston once becuase it was during a nitrous run. Maybe you got the same poor oiling Coast High Performance crank i had.
Thanks guys, good to be home. Should have the engine on the stand by Sunday. Thinking spun rod bearing with the piston slapping the head now. We shall see.
