Hi guys. Looking for some insight on maverick I havent owned old school or classic cars with the exception of a 74 260z. My next build requires a new platform and so im forced to step away from the cars that im familiar with. Ive own a few 500whp cars and my datsun is a garage built turbo 302. So i know Im capable of finishing this job. plans is twin turbo 351w with a manual trans(not sure what to go with yet) match with a ford 9" rear. 57-59 ford bolt in rear end. Goal is 650-700whp mostly street car but might have some drag/slick runs in the future. unsure yet. power wise I have the setup planned out. but Im missing a couple of info I need. 1. Handling- is there anyway I can make this car handle like a newer car? im not talking about new new. I mean like 1990 imports with basic spring/shock mods. I dont plan to track the car but I dont want a sloppy car on a simple freeway on ramp either.(less body roll) 2. How stable is the car on high speed?(120-140ish mph) just incase. 3. any quick and easy way to upgrade the 57-59 9" rear to posi? or should I just get a newer 9" with posi and narrow it? also Im considering running cobra rims anyone here not narrow their 9" rear to not have to use a spacer? if so what truck did the 9" came from? The more I look into this car the more it looks good for what I want any thing that I should really consider or look into that I should make a priority? thanks and hopping to join the club
