I'm still searching for someone who makes a Maverick specific export brace that clears the EFI.

I found an old post that suggested that MPG Heads makes one for a Falcon that will work for a Maverick. http://www.mpgheads.com/export_brace.php

I spoke with them and they recalled selling a couple to individuals who said they were using them on an EFI Maverick. MPG was under the impression that it can be done with little to no modification to their export brace. They could not provide any further details.

Has anyone out there used this brace or knows of a brace that will work?

I'm not a fabrication guy. So, I'm not looking to make my own set.

    Thanks,
    Micah

im also looking for an export brace that will work. that looks nice but the t handle pins (i know its an option) look to be the weak link...im not an expert just seems everything should be nice and tight.

i doubt you will find a maverick specific one..just not much of a market.

I wouldn't want one like in the link...to many moving parts. An Export Brace needs to be mounted solid to work...not mounted with swivels on the ends so it can move around. That style is just eye candy. Without seeing where your getting interference my guess is a custom fab job that might end up looking as wild as the power brake shock tower brace that came on our cars.

I had this same concern and asked them about it. Their explanation was that there was such little movement with the pins that it is not a problem.

I too would rather have a solid fixed piece. I suppose you could weld them up once you have them fitted to the car.

I have the MPG export brace on my bracket car. Works great. Once you have it locked in place it does not move. I had to drill 2 new holes in the cowl as the early Mustang ones are different. Then had to cut 3/4 inch off of each end of the bar and retap the one end that is reversed as it did not go all the way through. Standard pins make easy work of taking them off. Other than that it works great. Picture110_original.jpg

    Don,
Thanks for the input. Is I read your post, your install is one of the versions made for an early Mustang. Do you know anything about the Falcon version being installed in a Maverick?

What do you think of the quality of the MPG brace? Any problems in dealing with them?

    Thanks,
    Micah
