Tach wiring, switched 12v terminal

    Hi everyone, new here....I just got a 1974 Mercury Comet and I am trying to wire in a tach...

    In the past, I have had a Chevelle and Camaro (race car) and always done my own work on electrical, engine, et cetera... I am trying to figure out the Ford side of things now....

    The fuse box is located above the dimmer switch on the driver side...it does not have any connection points (Aux, lights, et cetera.)

    Where do I pick up the switched 12v signal for the tac? Also, the coil (all original) has a "battery" and "distributor" terminals....where do I pick up the tach signal?

    The tach will go to the minus (-) on the coil, get you switched power from the radio feed wire

    thanks guys...

    negative terminal on coil is the one labeled "distributor?" I have always had ignition boxes, digital 6 et cetera, and the tach connection was on the box itself...
