Does anyone know where I can buy a new 7 wire module? I can only find 6 wire modules and mine is shot.

Ok. Have you ever used one? One of the truck sites said the 6 wire didn't work.

I guess factory parts won't work. This is an aftermarket brand from Napa's Echlin line. I never hooked up the White wire on my DS II

That's the first time I've ever heard of an ignition module called a modulator! :rofl2:
The white lead is a spark retard for starting on bigger engines.
I'll find the wiring diagram and post it for the OP.

They also called it a Modulateur, Modulador, Module and Modulo in the paper work that was inside the box. I knew what the White wire was for and I knew I had a 250 and I knew I didn't need to hook it up. :D

The new modules have eliminated the blue wire.

Eh, blue... white.. what's the difference... unless you are colorist?

God I hope not... in this day and age?

I'm not picky as long as it works. I just can't afford to keep contributing to "the swear jar" if it doesn't. I know these modules are specific to 74 & 75 cars

Thanks everyone. I think I finally found the correct one. Autozone and a few other stores said the blue grommet box worked. Those are for the Duraspark II and won't work. However, when I looked for a 1975 F-150, it pulled up the correct green grommet box. Advance Auto had this not attached:

Wells; Grommet Color - Green or Clear, For Pigtail Connector Use ~435~ & ~480~, This module is supplied with (1) 4 prong socket and (1) 2 prong socket. It will replace earlier version 4 prong and 3 prong sockets. The blue wire prong is not used in this case.

Thanks Jeff, I was having a concern with the wiring on the new replacement module, as my original wiring was a 7 wire. The pdf really got me straight.

The Blue wire was replaced when they added a Zener Diode to the box's. At least that's what my factory info says.
