caltrac question

    looking at caltracs on their website..whats the difference in the drag and low profile bars..i see the drag set are two hole vs one...whats the difference

    Didn't know they offered different "models". The two hole brackets allow you to adjust the instant center for more or less "hit" on the tires at launch. IIRC, the lower hole will shock the tire harder (as long as the track will handle it).

    It looks like the only difference it that one extra hole. By only using the top hole, you don't have that extra material hanging down below, so it is considered "low profile".

    Same price. May was well get the two hole model for extra ability to adjust your setup. You don't need to use that second hole if you don't want to, and it isn't like that extra material hangs down so far that it drags the ground or anything.

    I have been running the two-hole version for many years and never had any issues.

    yea that's kind what I figured ..I just wasn't sure. What wheels are u running in that pic?...they are similar to what I want on my car

    Those are American Racing Torque Thrusts, 17X8 with 4" backspacing. Tires were pretty low profile.

    I typically run Cragars 15X8 rear and 15X7 front with 225/60-15 front and 255/60-15 rear.

    I will be going to those Torque Thrusts in 17X8, but with a touch more tire, when I finally get what I want.

    I borrowed the tires just to see how they fit from this guy.
