well a guy from another board who lives in my town mailed me about a yard near me with an intact 76 v/8 4door..spent all day there!!!!!!!
    lotsa great stuff
    rear window defogger
    v/8 swap parts
    spindles
    power brake setup.
    radiator
    shroud (busted up. needs repair)
    sport mirrors
    alternator brackets
throttle cable (kinda falls under swap parts i guess)
even a gas cap. not bad shape just faded.
    tinted glass windshield
    nice wiper arms
engine compartment and inside trunk lights.
    rear end
biggest scare of course is getting home only to find the defroster won't run..IT DOES!!
YEAH I KNOW... I DOESN'T TAKE MUCH TO MAKE HAPPY.

Wow sounds like a fun day! I'm goin to Copher's tomorrow before we pick up the new Comet, doubt they'll have anything useful they never do. What I need is bumpers for my new sable lol.

What - no trees growing up through the hood? That's too easy :D

    Congrats on the great find!

Until this year on my way to Carlisle, I hadnt seen a Mav/Com in a yard for 18 years. I remember cause I bought a hood on a burnt car and they crushed it right after that. Had I known they would all be gone, I would have harvested that car. There are none around here. Glad you guys still have some resources.

Did you get the complete wiring harness for the defogger? Its a 2 speed with the wiring harness and a single speed without.

I just started a new thread for the blower wiring in Technical. I need to figure out that wiring myself.

Dennis- we didnt bother with the whole harness because it is going in my car. It isn't worth the hassle of getting the panel up front and trying to paint it blue or trying to find a blue one. Im just going to put a switch under the dash somewhere. Im not trying to make a factory looking car. All function.

WTG Scott. I was near York PA this weekend, and saw a big bumper Comet on the back of a tow truck, and a big bumper LDO Mav. sitting in a parking lot. Cool two cars in one trip. Hey Scott I found out where that other yard is also. we need to check it out together. Russ

A friend of mine has an old yard that has probably10-15 mavericks in there.I've been going up there since I put a front clip on my 73 grabber I had in high school.Need to go back and see what good stuff is left, most of those old cars have been picked over through the years.I can think of about 5 or 6 70-73 cars and the rest of the crash bumper variety.I knew when I was 16 that since these cars weren't very valuable then and I was working on one I better get parts cars whenever I could. So I've saved a few from the shredder and now I've got about 10 of them(it's nice to live on a farm)and I still try to save them when I can.Never know when someone (or me!)might need a piece or a part off one.:D

So Scott where did you find this treasure at? Was it around up here? I have not been out to any yards in this part of the state but I know they have closed the 3 that used to go to in South Jersey.
