I agree 100% take it out and enjoy it thats what you built it for.

obviously that other guy was just a dirtbag yankin your chain. he prolly didnt have the money in the first place.( dude was in la la land ) if he did he wouldve sent that deposit from paypal as fast as you said hey the other guy didnt come through.


promote the car at the track enter into every event possible and run it have a good photographer take pics while youre out there. maybe find an up and coming artist that can use shots of your car for there portfolio and wont charge you to help promote your car.

send pics of it from the first wrench you turned on it until now to a few magazines. see if you might get some magazine coverage that would help alot.


your car is definitely cover worthy of a good monthly magazine.
maybe hotrod or mustangs monthly or some race car magazine

 

+1. Those "lowballers" are making realistic offers. It's more of a situation where the seller does not really "need" to sell the car, so unless he can get what he wants for it, he won't part with it.

 

No.. not really. Well.. kinda. Actually, I think he needs to find someone who thinks even more of it to make it worthwhile to sell all that hard work.

Personally, I think the car was bid up to what the average market will bear for a vintage style full race Maverick like that. But despite being grouped into a less collectible status(comparitively speaking).. I was merely pointing out that there are people out there that'll give him the cash he's after for that car.. and then some. The hard part is finding them when there ready to buy.. or better yet.. luring them in even when they're not in the market for such a car. Big name auction houses can and have done that many times through the years for sellers parting with such unique nostalgia type cars.

But.. as was already said a few times now.. timing is everything. Not to mention it typically takes more money to make more money.. and as usual there is always risk of losing some profit margin while shooting for those bigger bucks.

 

Wait about 6 weeks and re list it. I get the feeling there is soon going to be a boom in interest for Mavericks.
