Does a 74 maverick grabber have any kind of a pillar cover or is it just metal that's painted. I picked up my maverick in pieces and didn't have any but wasn't sure if they came with them cause I cannot find them anywhere. Also if someone could take a pic of their pillar in a finished car that would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Great question, I'm in the same boat right now! Think the a-pillar is just the steel that shows but there has to be something at the top?

Also, if I could ask, is there a trim piece that goes along the inside of the windshield at the front edge of the headliner or just the window rubber?

I'm with him, anyone have a picture of these areas?

My 70 has no cover over the A pillars but there is some sort of trim that I removed either at the headliner or the dash - I have to find it in my disassembly photos

Thank you so much. Now I have to try to find that small peice on the too of the pillar in between the weatherstripping. Mine are both broken lol. Yay more parts hunting. Seems like a ongoing process with this car.

Amen. Lol I have noticed that when you shop for maverick parts just double what the parts for a mustang cost. And yeah I could write checks all day long but my bank my get a lil. p o'ed when they start becoming rubber. Lol but I do love the car.

Jeff, that looks good. What did you do? Looks kinda like you covered the a-pillar then put the window rubber and door seals in. Anyways looks good.

where are you getting your parts? parts for these cars are fairly cheap and just about everything mustang will fit.
the most expensive part Ive had to buy that didnt come from the local auto parts store or a mustang shop was the windshield I found it used for $50. the gaskets are going to cost me good chunk

body panels are expensive because theres not many places other than here to get them. that grabber hood is super expensive at $700+ makes me glad I have a comet :rofl2::p

your car looks to be in pretty good condition. did it come with a drive train? or did you get it with a big hole where the heart is supposed to go?

Vinyl was glued on both the A-pillar and B-pillar before the windshield went in. The guy doing the headliner surprised me with this little trick. I think it adds a (very) little touch of luxury to the plan jane metal finish that came with our cars. It's not that noticeable until you look at it. Anyone not knowing any better would think it came that way and not have given it another thought.

I bought most of my stuff through auto krafters. Prices weren't bad but still expensive. Lol
A big hole and no driveshaft either. Gauges were burnt and wiring is a mess. But I have a rebuilt 302 and am picking up a c4 for it shortly. I have 90% if what I need to get her done just little stuff now.

that will be a hard piece to find (good) it is thin plastic and has a plastic stud that fits into a hole in the A-pillar. all I have tried to remove broke. even when I removed the headliner and pushed it out from the back. then there is the chance of breaking it when you go to pop it back into the hole...:yup:

Jeff has a great idea to eliminate it...:thumbs2:
