Evenin' all. I just wanted to say hello and warn you all of a lot of questions I will have probably soon. I picked up a 1972 Grabber in blue and gold last year and have big plans for her, starting with re-installing the air conditioning and heat in the thing! It's absolutely beautiful otherwise; rust free, newer paint, big disc brakes, front sway bar, and AR Torque Thrust II wheels. I will post pictures later. Thanks in advance for the advice! -SK
Welcome to the forum from the Windy City. Did the heat/ac restore/upgrade thing 2 1//2 yrs ago; it was a worthwhile upgrade esp., if you drive the car any distance. Gud luck w/ the car.
if youre ever in the sacramento area look me up. you can check out my boys comet we bought in modesto
Thanks for all the welcomes! It's my daily driver, so yeah, the heat and A/C is a must! The wife won't ride with me if it's not a constant 50 degrees inside in the summer and 85 in the winter. I may be exaggerating, there, but if I am, it's not by a lot. I'm in Sacramento occasionally; I'll try to announce it when I go up next!
Welcome, to get those temps you might want to plan on lots of Dynamat or other sealing/insulating materials.
I got the car off Craig's List in Sacramento last year. The story I got is that I am owner number four. The first owner was a little old lady in the Bay area who used it as a grocery getter and tried to donate it in one of those "Donate your car for the children" things. The guy who ran the event liked the car so much that instead of letting the lady donate it, he bought it from her right then and there and drove it on and off for a few more years and sold it to the guy in Sacramento who owned a plumbing business. When the business started to go under, he put it on CL right when some old lady crashed into my 1965 F100 while it was parked and totaled it, forcing me to find a new baby. That was last year.
