Is a grabber hood a regular hood with the two scoops or is it completely different?

The outer skin is completely different. The 'bump' in the front of the hood is more rounded and pronounced in the Grabber hood. Both hoods use the same hinges, and moldings, and would have the same "foot print". The framework under the hoods are the same (year-for-year). A Grabber skin would fit on a flat hood frame.

Not sure where you are going with this...:hmmm:

Well I was going to see if I could just glass in grabber scoops instead of buying a grabber hood.

Not even close, unless you have 20 gallons of fiberglass.

OK, well thanks for the warning guys! Also do you know if a 1970 ford mustang front spoiler would be hard to fit on a maverick?

Yes any 69-70 Shelby, Mach I, Boss 302 or Boss 429 chin spoiler will fit

I know of 3 different support webbings used on Mavericks. But it doesn't have any effect on fit

The 69/70 Shelby valances are different than the Mustangs of the same year, as are the spoilers.

Wasn't the diamond-shaped piece made to eliminate interference with the 302 A/C compressor? If so, then the red hood would have to be an early 71 (mine is like this, and my car was built in Sept 70) before the 302 was available?? So I guess I was mistaken... Thanks for the clarification, Jeff!:Handshake
