I seem to remember something about early Mavericks having 13's... :hmmm:

I get what you mean about that axis, cyclonewill. One would think that as long as the tire is still centered on that, handling shouldn't be negatively affected no matter what the size, right?

Right. With lower profile tires and thicker spacers it may get close to the center, so it may be minimized. The easiest way to see the effect is on a straight axle fenderless hotrod. That's why the kingpins are angled in at the top, to point the pivot toward the center of the tire contact patch. Sorry if I drug this thread off into the ditch.

Hey guys...I don't usually dig up old threads but this one relates best to what I need. I have access to a set of the bullitt wheels pictured in the 1st post. I'm looking at them for a 77 Comet. I've read posts with guys using 1", 1.5", and 2" spacers. I would like some updated opinions of these and if you're satisfied with what you have. If you started over, would you do something different?

I have 4 brand new ones in boxes, so I'm interested. I'm hoping that my new Willwood brakes that have a .75 positive offset, will eliminate the need for a spacer on the front...

I have 1" spacers on mine and it all works out fine other than fender scrub on right turns, still need frontend alignment and that may correct it, but They are 245/50/R16 so I can't advise you on 17"
