Ok I have I believe, figured out what's wrong with my speedometer, seems where the cable plugs in the back of it, it's not quite able to reach it, if I remember correctly, when I changed the gear down at the tranny, the cable ws sticking through it out the end of the gear, if I push it back some won't it just work it's way back through it again? any ideas to keep it there, I did notice inside at the speedo the cable seems to have a collar on it but it does no good being to close to the end.

When my speedometer quit working it was the gear's fault.

Wow, I would say so! I just put a gear for the four speed on mine, the cable protrudes through the gear, looking for a way to keep it from sticking through, something that would hold it inside the gear. :hmmm:

This gear broke after I swapped my C4 to a T5. The C4 gear has a 1/4" longer tip than the manual transmissions.

the cable should not stick out the end of the gear. the end of the gear is usually sealed off to keep the cable from doing what yours is doing. sounds like you need a new gear. it may be a good idea to get a new cable also.

So if I just poke a little epoxy in the end of the gear it should work.

Man, I would just change out the gear! Epoxy may work but it still isn't right.

I wouldn't trust that! I don't want to think what might happen if that hard piece of epoxy goes into the trans! :naughty:
