I saw a posting here about moving the mirrors forward but cant find it. It was pretty recent, I thought, it had pics of before and after of the relocation. Anyone have any ideas?
Can't understand why anyone thinks the mirrors on a Maverick need to be moved. Ford put them in exactly the right place.
I removed my passenger mirror completely, and moved my driver side mirror forward about 6". It just didn't work for me where it was originally located. I am 6' tall. Not sure if that makes a difference. But I just had to move it forward to make it work for me. I also had to take the rearview mirror off and move it up a bit on the windshield. Still too low with the low sportroof rear window.
Yeah, the rear view mirror also sucks, Nick moved his up, I can't since I have the black spot on my windshield ....
For ME, the biggest issue is the size of the mirror glass, not necessarily the placement. I'm 6'4" and can "manage" to see out them enough to drive. I am used to driving my F-150 which has a good size mirror on either side. Judging by the way most others drive around here, I'm probably the only person in New Brunswick that uses his mirrors anyway... I like what you did with the rearview, Frank!
I replaced my rearview w/ aftermarket unit cuz the OE unit was in poor cdx visually. Other than not being able to tighten it down to a point where it won't move abt 1/4" ocassionally; I don't have any problem seeing what's behind me. Side mirror are not a real issue, other than being on small side. I don't use the pass side for much, other than backing in my garage. Can't really see the need for moving them, don't think it wud be of any benefit. Im 5'11", might as well just say 6ft.
