Three or four months ago Bkelley and I got a Pinto consolette at the junkyard. Today he surprised me with a Christmas present. He filled the face with metal that he got from an old VCR cover, patched the cut-out on the passenger's side where the heat duct use to be and painted the consolette black. The Maverick dash emblem really made things look like it could have came that way from the factory. He even installed the consolette while I was inside Melvin's Classic Ford shopping. It was a big surprise when I got in the car ready to come back home. Here's a before and after pic of the consolette.
Send me the cores to clean up that nice and I'm pretty sure I could convince Melvins to add them to their catalog.
Looks good! 2 questions How did he patch the side? Does anyone have one of these to sell at a reasonable price?
I had one of those in a Bobcat I used to own back in college. Where it was cut out....I mounted an equalizer.
