Finally Bought a Marti Report for my Grabber!

    Finally broke down and bought a Marti report for my 1972 Grabber. Didn't really learn any breathtaking new facts about the car, but very interesting nonetheless.

    The order type on your Maverick was "Retail", which meant that it was customer ordered.

    IMO, that has got to be one of the best looking color combinations for the Grabber ever.

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.
    What I found interesting:

    - Only 606 1972 Grabbers were EVER made in that color with bucket seats as well.

    - 11,805 1972 Grabbers came with a floor mounted shift lever. I would not have guessed it was that high.

    Very rare car!!

    I wouldn't have thought that only 2498 Grabbers came in the Bright Lime. I thought it would have been fewer than that. A VERY nice colour combo though!

    Does the "stock" type order mean it was just sitting on the lot?

    Very nice car. I too love that color combo. I had that exact car. Same color, factory 302 V/8 with bucket seats and floor shift. I sold it in 2002 to a forum member in OH who in turn sold it to another foum member in OH. Cant remember their names but the last guy that had it had a yellow Mav with I think purple flames painted on it and lived in southern OH.
    I am not sure what he ever did with it.

    Yep, dealer ordered it for inventory...

    That's the status for probably 95% of vehicles sold...

    By the warranty card, my Comet was built June 23(that may or may not be correct, as it's the original day scheduled), orig BOS shows it was sold July 8... Still I don't have a Marti so have no idea if it was a stock or customer order...

    This means my wagon sat on the lot for over a month in late '72...I have a feeling my Maverick could be a Retail order though, based on its options.
