    Hey Guys,

Just got back in from attempting to shovel my way out of my driveway. I've been out there on and off since about 4:50 AM! We got 18-24" of snow over the last 24 hours! That's about how much we've had TOTAL in the last 2 or 3 years. All counties in the local vicinity have declared states of emergency, and the National Guard has been called out to assist. We're just not prepared for snows of this magnitude. We even made the Weather Channel (when they talk about Evansville Indiana)!! What a mess!!!

I've made it about 15 feet forward in my 2-wheel drive pickup, and my driveway is about 250 ft long!! Not a lot of progress....the snow keeps blowing around and drifting back up under the truck. Oh well, I guess I need to carry my little dog out and let him go to the bathroom again. He can't walk in the stuff, it's over his head.

Neal (Squeal1 on here) is probably in the same boat.

Good Luck to anyone else who may be in the same predicament.

    Later,

We got about 4in here in central Arkansas, being originally from Nebraska, is just a dusting up there. Got the 1939 Ford 9n tractor started after considerable coaching(14deg outside) and have been on it for 3 hours doing our street and all the neighbors drives, with the blade. Sun is out and is kind of pretty but still don't care for the stuff anymore. Spoiled from living here the past 15yrs. HO HO HO to all.

That is a lot of snow to deal with, no matter where you live. Some how we've managed to luck out so far this winter. As I type this, it's 55 degrees and raining like someone opened the flood gates, with wind gust near 40 MPH at times. I don't think our stockade fence is going to be standing much longer.:slap: For us here in Northeast Pa, this is not normal weather for this time of year. Three days ago the tempeture reached a HIGH of only 10 degrees! I think I heard that a cold front is supposed to be coming in behind this warm air. With the weird weather we had this year, we'll probably have a blizzard on Christmas like we did two years ago.:hide:

Jean I know what you mean. It is 62 right now where I am at in NJ. It feels like April right now. I don't even want to see my basement when I get home. And there is more rain on the way. I would rather have the snow. It is suppose to drop to 26 tonight so you know what that means. Everyone will be sick on Christmas morning. Enjoy the snow guys...... and have a great Christmas.

If your basement is like mine, it's already turned into an indoor goldfish pond.:( Time get out the shop-vac again. The only thing that really concerns me is that if the temps drop too much too fast, we'll end up with ice. Given the choice, I'll take snow over ice anyday.

The storm just missed the St. Louis area. About 40 miles south and east of St. Louis though they got about 4 inches.

Enjoy the white Christmas! We seem to get more White Thanksgiving's.

We're just on the warm side of the Ohio Valley storm front. No snow and lots of rain. In about a hours drive west, I could be in 18" of snow. I think I'll keep my but right here. :)

    Wishing I had one...
    I wanted snow :(
A few feet here isn't anything we're used to it every winter... but we've only had a trace so far :(

When we get like 3' of snow i'll be happy.

Here in northeast Arkansas we got about 6" of snow, the temp was 10 deg. this morning. Calling for 7 deg. tonite and 4 tomorrow nite but the snow is over.
I am on vacation this week, so I just threw another log on the fire and watched it fall, and actually enjoyed it.
We usually just get a dusting or an inch or so of snow so this was a bit unusual.
By wed. the forecast is for 60 degrees, then the real mess will begin.
Before I forget Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

I unloaded in Searcy, Arkansas yesterday morning, started back across US64 in the rain, before I got back to I-55 it was freezing rain, bridges iceing over, wind blowing 30 or 40 mph, just generally lousy driving weather. I made it back to Memphis just ahead the worst of it, I was supposed to load back in Blythville Ar but there was no way I was going to try to get up there as I had already heard they had about 1 inch of ice.... instead I loaded in Memphis to Montgomery Al.,got it off this morning and came back to Tuscaloosa to reload for Monday, got home and it's colder than a well diggers ,well you know, gonna stay close to the heater this weekend! Merry Christmas everybody!:yippee: :yippee: :yippee: :yippee:

That is a lot of snow, even for Montrealers, but we are ready for such storms. Most people have snow tires(my daily driver has studded snow tires) and we have all the snow removal equipment.
