I'm using a late 95 5.0 and installing a early 302 timing cover... Do I use the timing pointer for a early 302 ? or do I need a late timing pointer ? and will a late fit on a early cover ?

you need to use the 95 timing pointer. it bolts onto the 2 lower bolts on the passenger side of the timing cover. it should fit on the older cover.

Unless your running an aftermarket balancer with all 3 different degree markings use the pointer that matches your balancer.

The block is a roller 94/96 truck/explorer, I'm buying everything for a 93 gt mustang so I can remember what parts are on the engine when I need to repair or replace stuff. So it has a stock OE 93 flywheel and balancer and I just bought a 93 timing pointer yesterday... I will be out in the garage this morning to see if things fit...

Just me but I'd get an 80's Crown Vic timing cover that has the locating dowels. That 93 flexplate/flywheel may not fit your bellhousing, depending on what transmission you're using.
