We made a deal http://www.ebay.com/itm/221367937691?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649#ht_38wt_968 I am waiting on a total from the seller.. First thing I will be doing, after turning it on, is loading the factory specs for our cars
Once i'm set up, all Maverick and Comet alignments are free to those who come over (parts not included :16suspect )
Nice score, Gene! That's the same unit we used to have at Canadian Tire when I worked there back in 1999. Make sure you check AND use the valve stem cables when the heads are on the rims. We lost a few heads that way, after they fell off the rims without guys fastening the lanyards to the valve stems. The only trouble with this machine, compared to the one they have at the same shop now, is that you can't surf the internet on this one. LOL
I always used the bungees.. Kinda bummed.. The seller tacked on $100 he claims is for shipping and handling etc.. AND I told him the shipping address is commercial with no dock. The freight price he shows is for residential.. which is another $100 more than I expected..
Kewl... Not so about the price hike though... The shop I'll use has a brand new machine they got last summer when their original wasn't repairable... I'd think by now they should have it figured out... I generally set toe in and unless there's a major issue, or been completely apart like the Comet, don't get excited about the other adjustments... I probably haven't paid for more than a half dozen shop alignments in my 47 years of owning vehicles(got a couple free withnew tires, remember when tire shops would do that?)... Laughed at Firestone when they wanted to up sell a lifetime alignment on the Grand Marquis... Been driving those since '93, other than a few shocks and one idler arm, haven't touched anything on the front ends yet...
