Yes spend the money, eyeballs work well to get to the alignment shop, but it doesn't take much to get tire wear. But good luck anyways.
I have no subframe connectors, but do have a 6 point that ties the front and rear torque boxes together and goes back to the end of the rear...

They do, I've seen brown and dark green ones.
