I considered putting the 6 back in my mav. Once it was pulled though I couldnt bring myself to go and do it.
on every ford I have seen the alts have a rediculous spacer washer. Are you missing it? Your water pump and all should line up with eachother.

start checkin wires. something wasnt wired right. I would start where the raido was connected and work my way back
