I if may add some advice, if it's not too late. Don't exceed 3 revolutions on the modulator screw. According to B&M.

Mechanical Pump As long as the eccentric is good on the cam gear, you should have no problem.
Fuel pump I run a mechanical and electric on my classic, just in case if one or the other fails.
Idle screws Set to the higest RPM while the engine is idleing. Make sure you have no vacuum leaks. especially at the base of the carb.
Get a remanufactured starter with the lifetime warranty and try it.
Not the 8.75" it should bolt right in the 9" housing.
Starter drives are cheaper to replace than the motor. Take the starter off and have it tested at AZ or some other store that will test it free....

Replace the starter drive unit, sometimes referred to as the Bendix.
Timing 74 maverick Timing is 6 Degrees BEFORE TDC for a 250-6 Automatic. Good Luck!
